Arthur Sweetman newly appointed to acting Director of Health Policy PhD Program

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Arthur Sweetman has been appointed as the acting Director of the Health Policy PhD program, beginning 1 January 2023.  Dr. Sweetman takes on the role from Dr. Julia Abelson, whose term ended in July and who generously stayed on to facilitate the transition.  Arthur Sweetman is a Professor in the Department of Economics and a member of the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Analysis.  He came to McMaster in 2010, following roles as Professor and Director of the School of Policy Studies at Queen’s University.  Arthur is active in the program, serving on the program executive team and as the Chair of the Health Economics Comprehensive Examination Committee.  He is involved with HP students through his membership on supervisory committees and as a course instructor in Economics.  We deeply appreciate Arthur’s commitment to the program, as he takes on the interim leadership of HP.
